Overview

Ben Todres is a seasoned C-suite executive, leveraged finance banker, strategic operator, and trusted advisor with more than 30 years of experience leading organizations through growth, operational transformation, capital structuring, and complex strategic initiatives.  His career spans alternative investments, entrepreneurial ventures, media and entertainment, nonprofit leadership, and global financial institutions where he has consistently combined financial expertise with hands-on operational leadership and execution.

Ben, as an executive member of BG Business Advisors, provides various services including financial and operational analysis, management insight, and due diligence advisory services to a diverse group of small and medium sized businesses.  Most recently, Ben served in an Executive Director capacity for Chabad of the Shore during a period of rapid expansion, where he oversaw the launch and operational management of a 55,000-squarefoot multi-use campus serving more than 75,000 residents across Monmouth County, NJ.  In this role, he managed large-scale facility operations, security infrastructure projects, vendor and contractor oversight, retail leasing initiatives, and organizational systems implementation while securing more than $700,000 in federal, state, and private grant funding.

Ben has also advised companies in the entertainment and media sectors, including providing financial, production budgeting, and contract advisory services related to the NBA Emmy Award-winning documentary The Last Dance, co-produced by NBA Entertainment, ESPN, and Netflix.  In addition, he served as a strategic advisor to media and financial services organizations on operational planning, KPI reporting systems, due diligence, and financial analysis.

Ben served as an Executive Board Member, Chief Financial Officer and Business Operations Manager of CineSport, where he joined as part of the founding executive team during the company’s pre-revenue stage. He helped guide the organization through rapid growth into a leading U.S. digital sports video network with approximately $15 million in annual revenue and national industry recognition.  During his tenure, he led capital raising efforts, oversaw finance and operations, developed scalable reporting and KPI systems, managed human resources and legal functions, and played a key role in the company’s successful eight-figure sale.

Ben was Managing Director at Vine Alternative Investments; a $1.5 billion alternative investment fund focused on entertainment intellectual property and structured capital investments.  There, he led teams responsible for underwriting, financial modeling, deal structuring, negotiations, and legal documentation for complex investment transactions.  He played a significant role in the firm’s successful $600 million capital raise and helped originate and negotiate major financing facilities tied to media asset acquisitions.

Ben’s financial and transactional background also includes senior leadership roles at major financial institutions including Merrill Lynch, JPMorgan Chase, BNP Paribas, and The Bank of New York Mellon.  Across these organizations, he specialized in private equity backed media and entertainment finance having underwritten more than $5 billion of financing across more than 100 transactions.

Throughout his career, Ben has built a reputation for combining strategic vision with operational discipline, financial sophistication, and practical leadership. He is recognized for his ability to scale organizations, implement infrastructure and reporting systems, manage complex negotiations, and guide businesses and nonprofits through periods of significant growth and transition.
